01Overview

Voltage Amps covers both guitar and bass tones in one plugin. Waves says the amps are designed to sound right as soon as you load them, so you can start playing without extensive tweaking. A Focus control lets you match the amp's response to your own guitar and pickups. The included cabinets, cab tones and tailor-made IRs complete the signal chain. Amp Tones From Clean to High-Gain

The guitar amps are based on classic American and British designs. Waves describes their range as running from clean to crunchy, and from jangly to high-gain aggressive. The bass amps cover a similar span, from smooth vintage tones to a full-spectrum modern sound.

All control settings stay in place when you switch between amps, which makes side-by-side comparisons straightforward. The Focus control is meant to adapt the amp's response to the instrument you plug in, so the same amp can sound different on a single-coil guitar and a humbucker-equipped one.

Cabinets, IRs and Routing Options

Voltage Amps includes a variety of cabinets and cab tones, along with tailor-made impulse responses. The Cab bypass setting lets you send the amp signal to physical cabinets, or you can add a separate IR loader if you prefer to use your own impulse responses.

A stereo room emulation adds ambience to the sound. The plugin is not limited to guitars and bass: Waves notes it can add character to vocals, synths and drum loops. The library also includes more than 400 presets from artists and producers.
