Morphoder is a vocoder built for more than talking instruments. Waves designed it as a sound design tool, where a built-in polysynth can be played from MIDI or used on its own, and a modulator can be applied to the synth, a track, a sidechain or either channel of a stereo source. Vocoding and Sound Character

Morphoder aims for intelligible vocoding, and it adds filtered white noise to handle "s" sounds, which are often lost in vocoder processing. The plugin can re-create classic 80s vocoder sounds, but it is also built for newer, more unusual results.

Controls for vocal formant, smoothing and release time let you shape how the modulator is tracked. A 5-band parametric EQ adds precise tonal shaping on top of the vocoded signal.

Synth, Modulation and Routing

The internal polysynth comes with 10 presets and can be used separately from the vocoder. Morphoder also accepts MIDI input, so you can play the synth or an external source from a keyboard.

Modulation routing is flexible. You can apply modulation to the synth, a track, a sidechain or either channel, and modulate audio from a stereo track, a single channel or a sidechain. The plugin inserts like a standard effect, so it fits into a regular channel strip.
