01Overview

GTR3 is built around amp tone and feel, covering both guitar and bass. Its amp library includes vintage models as well as newer designs, including custom models developed with Paul Reed Smith and Neil Citron. A virtual pedalboard of 25 stompboxes, based on Waves' high-end studio processors, lets you shape the signal before it reaches the amp. Stacking, miking and tempo-synced effects give you room to build a complete guitar or bass rig inside your DAW.

Amp Models, Cabinets and Miking

GTR3 offers 30 guitar amps and 7 bass amps to choose from. Each amp can be paired with one of 16 guitar cabinets or 6 bass cabinets, and the plugin provides 12 miking options for capturing the cabinet sound.

You can also stack two amps in series or in parallel. The developer lets you run them in phase or out of phase, which is useful for thickening a sound or creating a wider, more complex tone.

Stompboxes, Tempo Sync and Live Use

The plugin includes 25 stompboxes derived from Waves' high-end studio algorithms, so you can build a virtual pedalboard before the amp stage. Tap tempo and tempo sync let you lock time-based effects to your project tempo.

The ToolRack module is optimized for standalone use in live performance, so the same signal chain can be used outside a DAW.
