Articulations and Sound Character
The bowed set covers feathered and flautando, spiccato, staccato, marcato, long notes and sustaining tones. Finger articulations include taps, mutes, scrapes and flicks, with up to six dynamic layers and up to eight round-robins per key. The rubber mallet group offers small hard and jumbo soft mallets, plus fast and slow superball ricochet bounces.
Soundiron describes its microphone placement as very close to the instrument, aiming to capture detailed resonance. The ricochet articulations include an extra ribbon microphone option for a smoother tone.
