01Overview

Mercury Boys' Choir Micro is the starter edition of Soundiron's Mercury Symphonic Boys' Choir library. It offers a slice of a traditional English boys' choral ensemble, recorded close-miked with a bright, open room sound. The instrument covers piano and forte versions of two vowels, "Ah" and "Oo", in sustaining and staccato forms, plus two tempo-syncable Latin words. It is built for producers who want a youthful choir texture without loading a full symphonic library.

Vowel and word articulations for choir parts

The library is organized around two vowels, "Ah" and "Oo", each with dynamic layered piano and forte versions in sustaining and staccato forms. A dual-layer layout lets you mix and blend between vowels and articulations within one patch.

Two chromatic Latin multi-syllable words, "Kyrie" and "Eleison", are included as sustaining articulations. They are tempo-synced, so their rhythm can follow your session tempo.

The instrument ships with three standard instrument presets, each focused on a category of choral articulations.

Controls and built-in effects

The custom Kontakt interface exposes attack, release, transient start offset, dynamic swelling, layer blend, panning, Tempo Sync, Pad mode and Key Range. Vibrato, legato, a 3-band EQ and reverb controls are also available.

The reverb section uses 51 integrated convolution impulse responses, covering spaces such as cathedrals, churches, halls, garages and tunnels, along with creative FX impulses. The interface is fully automatable.

Seventeen FX presets show what the compact library can do beyond straight choir lines. Soundiron says each one has its own sonic character.
