01Overview

Lakeside Pipe Organ captures a vintage pipe organ at the Lakeside Temple of Practical Christianity in Oakland, California. Soundiron recorded five essential stop settings, comparable to PP, P, MP, MF and FF dynamics, with master organist Don Sears. Every setting was captured from close and far stereo microphone positions. Version 2.0 refines key mapping and playability, and adds automatable performance, effect and arpeggiator controls.

Dynamics, Microphone Positions and Sampling

The library covers five organ settings, each recorded from two stereo microphone positions, close and far, so you can choose between a direct, focused sound and a more spacious one.

All notes on the organ were sampled, with no interval sampling, and every note includes release triggers. The lowest key has been extended down to C-2, below the physical pipes, which gives you deeper notes than the organ itself can produce.

The recordings are acoustic and were captured without noise reduction.

Interface, Effects and Reverb Library

The Kontakt interface includes an advanced step-sequencing arpeggiator, LFOs, and multi-effects such as delay, flanger, filter and convolution reverb. Automatable performance, effect and arpeggiator controls are included in version 2.0.

The reverb section contains 115 custom impulse responses. These include real-world spaces as well as impulses designed for evolving atmospheres and special effects.

The Kontakt presets and WAV samples are unlocked, so you can customize them.
