Stem separation, effects and beatgrids in Traktor Pro 4

Stem separation isolates drums, bass, instruments and vocals so each can be filtered or processed on its own. Each stem has its own waveform display, which helps with precise edits during a set.

Flexible beatgrids follow each tempo change throughout a track. Native Instruments says this avoids the audio quality impact that can occur when syncing in other DJ systems. The beatgrids support looping, beat jumps and beat effect layering, and they are useful when mixing tracks with changing tempos or moving between genres.

The Pattern Player adds drum patterns from classic drum machines and from producers including Rebekah, Luke Slater, Len Faki, Chris Liebing and Dubfire, which can be layered into a set.

Hardware setup and workflow

Traktor Pro 4 works with any club-standard mixer, turntables or CDJs. Timecode Control Vinyl (DVS) lets DJs use vinyl control with digital tracks, and Beatport and Beatsource streaming are supported.

MIDI clock and Ableton Link allow connections to external software and hardware for hybrid performance setups. Deep MIDI mapping lets users map compatible hardware and software to their own layout.
