MASSIVE: Wavetable Synth for Bass and Leads by Native Instruments Free Download

MASSIVE's sound synthesis is based on a Wave Scanning algorithm implemented in three parallel oscillator modules. Each oscillator fades between waveforms in one dimension and manipulates the read-out speed of a single cycle in the other.

The synth includes 85 wavetables, each with its own mix of waveforms. A modulation oscillator supports ring modulation and phase modulation, which the developer notes sounds similar to FM. A noise generator can be mixed in for additional texture, and it can be paired with the comb filters for physically modeled sound design.

Any oscillator can also be routed directly to the output, bypassing filters and master effects. This is a practical way to add a sub layer under heavily modulated sounds.

MASSIVE's macro controls are the fastest way to change a sound. Each macro can drive several underlying parameters at once, so a single control such as Rhythm or Brightness can reshape a patch without requiring knowledge of its internal structure.

The macros are mapped automatically to the eight macro knobs on Komplete Kontrol S-Series keyboards and Maschine hardware. They can also be assigned to MIDI controllers with MIDI Learn, and they are the first eight parameters exposed to a host when MASSIVE runs as a plug-in.

Modulation options include envelopes with a loop mode, a Stepper and a Performer sequencer, and a flexible LFO. Templates such as a one-click ADSR setting speed up common tasks.
