Sound Character and Core Controls
The core of DigiCrush is bit depth reduction, adjustable from 24 bits down to 1 bit. Lowering the bit count reduces audio resolution and adds a lo-fi character. The Bit Mode control changes how that reduction sounds, with four options: Gate, Destroy, Smooth and Noisy. Each pairs a quantisation style with a dither choice.
Downsampling lowers the sample rate to simulate vintage digital hardware. A Jitter control adds random variation to the sample rate, and higher settings add more randomness to the signal. The Overload control reduces the quantisation scale while raising output gain, which the developer compares to a blown speaker.
