Bit Swapping and Channel Differences
The main focus of BITPUNK is swapping bits between channel A and channel B. For the swap to change the sound, the two channels need to differ in some way. The plugin provides A and B effects for this purpose, including a rate reducer, a square-wave frequency shifter, a syncable delay, and high-pass and low-pass filters.
In Mute mode, the plugin swaps input bits with silenced bits, producing a classic bit-crushing effect. Standard bit crushers silence bits from highest to lowest, while here the muting order can be set freely.
A sidechain input routes external audio into channel B, so you can swap bits between two different sources and morph between them.
