Sound and Drum Kit Character

The instrument uses a Mapex Velvetone Limited Edition drum kit as its core sound. Recording took place in a small booth with plenty of dampening, which the developer describes as a deliberately dry, boomy and aggressive character.

The samples are built around high velocities. Four velocity layers and five round robins help the hits stay varied when you play them repeatedly. A snare rimshot is included as the top velocity layer, so harder playing gets an accent sound without extra programming.

Cymbals, Articulations and Control

The cymbal set combines Zildjian and Paiste pieces, including hi-hats, two crashes, a ride, a china and a splash. The articulations cover the kick, cross stick, snare, two toms and hi-hat positions, plus ride bell, ride crash and several choked cymbal sounds.

The master section is designed for fast setup, and each microphone channel can be adjusted separately. Multi-output routing lets you send elements to individual mixer channels, and MIDI mapping is supported.
