The kit is a Yamaha Recording Custom with a Dunnett Titanium snare, the core of the sound Just Add Drums sets out to capture. Just Add Drums says the snare is cranked and the kick is low and boomy, which points the kit toward heavy, punchy rock and nu metal grooves.

The cymbal set combines Zildjian and Paiste pieces: hats, two crashes, a ride, a china and a splash. Snare rimshot is included as the top velocity layer, so harder hits can cut through with a natural attack when played.
