Kit, Snare and Cymbal Sounds

The kit is built on a Ludwig Classic Maple drum set, with a Ludwig Black Beauty snare as the main snare voice. The cymbal set uses Zildjian and Paiste models, covering hi-hats, two crash cymbals, a ride, a china and a splash.

The developer describes the sound as a blend of vintage drums and modern production. Each instrument is sampled with 4 to 5 velocity layers and 4 round robins, so repeated hits vary in a way that helps the playing sound natural.

A snare rimshot is included as the top velocity layer, which gives harder hits a distinct accent.

Articulations and Workflow

The instrument includes a wide set of articulations, among them kick, cross stick, snare, two toms, closed, half-open and open hi-hats, pedal hi-hat, ride, ride bell, ride crash, and multiple crash, china and splash cymbals. Choke versions of the crash, china, splash and second crash are included for cutting cymbals short.

Multi-output routing lets you send each element to its own mixer channel, so you can process the kick, snare, toms and cymbals separately. Four presets are included as starting points. MIDI mapping is listed as coming soon.
