01Overview

Sonespheres 2 - Origins is the Kontakt library from Soundiron's Sonespheres series, designed by film and TV composer Blake Ewing. It focuses on atmospheric textures, pads and drones rather than conventional sample playback. The instrument pairs two independent sample source modules with a full effects rack and a set of automatable controls, so producers can shape sounds from subtle ambiences to evolving soundscapes. Version 1.0 is distributed as Kontakt .nki preset banks, with the underlying samples also available as uncompressed WAV files.

Sound Design and Source Modules

The library is built on lush symphonic woodwind recordings. Each of its two sample source modules offers controls for volume, attack, start offset, release, bass, treble, pitch, pan, filter type, resonance and frequency.

A cross-fader, legato glide system and step-sequencable arpeggiator add movement to pads and keys. An LFO with shape, rate, tempo sync, depth and attack time can be routed to volume, bass, treble, pitch, pan, resonance and frequency.

Preset Library and Effects Rack

The instrument includes 307 sound source presets across seven categories: bass, drops, hits, keys, pads, rhythm and risers. Pads is the largest group, with 105 presets.

The multi-effects rack offers 18 effect plugins, including amplifier, cabinet simulator, delay, tape, saturation and transient master. The convolution reverb includes over 100 custom impulse responses, from bunkers and sci-fi effects to piano strings and concert halls.
