Shake: Kontakt Shaker and Percussion Library by Soundiron

The library gathers 95 instruments, from egg shakers and filled ping pong ball rattles to raw hide and wooden maracas. Natural-material instruments such as seed pods, gourds, rattan, coconuts and bamboo are also included, along with custom instruments built by David Oliver, such as a bamboo rainstick shaker, a mung bean shaker and a multi-effect pad box shaker.

The recordings include grooves, fills, flourishes, rolls and individually sampled hits. Loops are cut as two-bar seamless loops in 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/8 and 7/8, at 20 BPM intervals from 80 to 140 BPM, plus full maraca patterns in 4/4 from 160 to 280 BPM.

The built-in loop browser filters by style and instrument keywords, tempo and time signature, and you can star favorite loops for quick recall. Once loaded into the slot grid, each loop can be edited down to the individual transient slice.

Per-slice controls include playback direction, slice order, ADSR and custom step automation for volume, pitch, pan, filter cutoff and resonance, drawn with the mouse. The Kontakt interface also provides LFOs, twelve filter types, a step-sequencer, an arpeggiator with a key and scale lock, and a modular rack of 18 effect modules across 10 slots, including a reverb with 99 room and hall impulse responses.
