Saturation Modes and Sound Character
Saturator X provides 10 saturation modes modeled on different analog circuits and media. Tape 1 and Tape 2 recreate tape compression and high-frequency behavior, with Tape 2 adding a lo-fi response with more pronounced distortion and high-frequency roll-off. Tube modes use push-pull and Class A designs, which add odd or even harmonics depending on the topology. Solid State modes provide a harder edge with a more defined transient response. The Transformer Iron and Steel modes are the gentlest options, adding light coloration through different harmonic balances.
Master +6dB and Master +12dB use a soft saturation curve intended for adding RMS level and body to a mix during mastering, with the +12dB setting producing a more pronounced effect.
