Plamen: Multi-Band Saturation Plugin by United Plugins

United Plugins built Plamen around the idea that every frequency band can need different treatment. The plugin splits the signal into five adjustable ranges, and each one can receive its own saturation type, input gain and parallel amount of colour, which the developer calls MOJO.

Because each band has its own settings, you can add warmth to low frequencies while leaving the highs untouched, or drive the midrange to help an instrument stand out. Each band can be soloed or muted to check its impact, and a fully parallel MOJO control or a global Dry/Wet mix is available for the whole plugin.

Four crossover points let you decide which frequencies count as subs, bass, low-mids, high-mids and treble. The crossover works in Linear phase or in an Analog 6dB/octave mode.

To apply saturation, choose the type, set the band's input gain, set the MOJO amount and balance the output. If you need more drive, the AGC Boost control adds 10dB to a band's input. Oversampling is available at 2x, 4x and 8x. The plugin also includes a smart bypass that avoids clicks when automating parameters and compensates for latency, and it can enter a sleep mode when there is no signal to process.
