01Overview

PitchShaper is built around pitch curves you draw directly on the screen. Cableguys describes it as a tool for shaping melodies, vocals and drums, with octave jumps, arpeggios, bends and pitch drops among the moves you can draw. Its four processing algorithms are designed for different material, so you can choose the one that suits the source. The plugin runs inside Cableguys' ShaperBox 3 and can also be used on its own or stacked with other Shapers.

Drawable Pitch Curves for Melodies and Sound Design

PitchShaper lets you draw pitch curves to change how a sound moves. You can add stepped patterns, flowing bends and octave jumps to samples, synths and instruments, or generate a pattern with a single click when you need a starting point.

The same curves can build effects. Cableguys points to epic risers, formant sweeps and time-locked tape stops as sound design uses, and a multiband mode that shifts pitch in three directions at once.

The Vocals algorithm covers smooth transposition, tight harmonies and robotic effects, along with formant control for changing how a voice sounds.

Drum Processing and Workflow

For drums, PitchShaper uses the Drums algorithm, which Cableguys says keeps hits crisp and tight while the pitch is bent and reshaped. Typical uses include formant-based rhythm textures and hi-hat variation.

The Drums algorithm also includes audio-triggered LFOs, which can modulate individual hits based on the audio itself.

PitchShaper runs in VST2, AU and AAX hosts on Windows and macOS, so it fits into most DAWs that support those formats.
