01Overview

FilterShaper Core 3 focuses on filter modulation. Its drawable LFO lets you sketch cutoff and resonance patterns, and its envelope follower can move the filter in response to the level of your sound. Cableguys says the filters are built with zero-delay feedback designs and resonance compensation, so the response holds up under fast or extreme modulation. Filter Sound and Character

FilterShaper Core 3 includes 20 filter types. Clean filters are meant for accurate response, while Warm Sallen-Key filters add a driven, analogue-style character. The Warm filter designs are based on a well-known semimodular synthesizer.

Low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, peak and notch filters are available in several slopes, from 6dB to 24dB per octave depending on the type. Dry/wet mix can be set for each band, and Master Mix and Smoothed Bypass help you blend or switch to the dry signal without clicks.

Modulation, LFO and Workflow

The expandable LFO can be edited in detail. You can set the loop length in beats and bars, or in Hertz and milliseconds, from 1/128 to 32 bars with sample-accurate sync. Audio-rate modulation goes up to 5.24kHz, which is useful for gritty, robotic textures.

Wave editing tools include flip, resize, move and randomize, plus copy and paste between Shapers and unlimited undo and redo for LFO edits. Waves can be triggered with MIDI, and the 2x/3x button doubles or triples a pattern with one click. Nine slots store custom waves with the patch.
