How MTrackAlign Aligns Vocals, Guitars and Rhythm Parts
Layered vocals are the most obvious use. Use your lead vocal as the guide and MTrackAlign aligns backing harmonies and choir takes to its timing, so you do not have to chop and crossfade each clip by hand. The same approach works for doubled guitars and synth basses. Pick your tightest guitar or bass take as the guide and lock the other performances to it.
The developer says the goal is to reduce the phasing and flamming that appear when doubled parts are edited manually. Results will depend on the material you feed it, so check the aligned clips by ear before committing to them.
The ARA approach also lets the plugin compare tracks across the whole clip, which the developer says keeps timing corrections non-destructive.
