01Overview

MiniFreak V brings the MiniFreak hardware synth into the DAW as a 6-voice polyphonic instrument. Two sound engines with 22 oscillator modes sit in front of modeled analog filters and VCAs. A simplified control layout gives quick access to the core sound, while an advanced panel opens a deeper modulation matrix. It can also sync to MiniFreak hardware for hands-on control.

Sound Engines, Filters and Effects

Two sound generators can be stacked, blended, or used to process one another. Together they offer 22 oscillator modes, covering the FM, wavetable and noise-based textures the synth is known for.

The modeled polyphonic analog filters are built to add warmth and grit to the digital engines. Three digital FX slots can run in insert or send mode, with 10 effects to choose from, all in full stereo.

Modulation, Sequencing and Arpeggiation

The modulation matrix has 7 sources and dozens of possible destinations, and the advanced panel exposes it fully. Each voice has an envelope, a cycling envelope and two LFOs, with user-customizable LFO curves.

A 64-step sequencer with four lanes of assignable automated modulation works alongside a flexible arpeggiator. Performance arpeggiator controls include Ratchet and Octave Randomize. The combined sequencing and arpeggiation features are designed for melodic and rhythmic ideas that can be unpredictable.
