01Overview

MilkShake is a sample-based instrument for the Kontakt engine that uses three ingredients: Milk, Juice and Sugar. The Milk and Sugar sounds were recorded from classic kitchen supplies, while the Juice samples were sampled from a sound-designed patch on a Waldorf microQ. A custom performance view puts the controls in one place, and a built-in effects chain adds processing that can be used right away. The instrument includes 24 factory presets and room to save 24 of your own.

Sound Sources and Shaping Tools

MilkShake's sound comes from its three source sets. Milk and Sugar samples were recorded from everyday kitchen items, and the Juice samples were taken from a patch built on a Waldorf microQ.

Each ingredient can be filtered with a 4-pole LowPass filter and shaped with an ADR envelope. The instrument also includes Bitcrusher, Rotary, Phaser, Reverb, Delay and EQ effects, so you can move from clean tones to rougher, more textural sounds without leaving the instrument.

Use Cases and Who It Suits

According to AudioThing, MilkShake works well for pads, tuned synth percussion, textures, evolving effects and noises. Its mix of sampled sources and built-in effects makes it a fit for producers looking for unusual source material rather than conventional synth patches.

The library includes 93 samples at 44.1 kHz / 24-bit, totaling 85 MB, and is delivered in Kontakt and WAV formats.
