01Overview

Memory V is Arturia's software emulation of the Memorymoog, the polyphonic analog synth that is known for its heavy, distinctive tone. Each voice uses three oscillators and a low-pass ladder filter, with dedicated filter and amplitude envelopes. Beyond the original architecture, the plugin adds unison, stereo spread, a multi-arpeggiator, a poly sequencer, and a four-slot effects rack, so you can shape sounds from a familiar front panel and go deeper in the advanced view.

Analog Oscillators and Ladder Filter Sound

Memory V uses a Memorymoog-inspired voice architecture with Poly 6 and Poly 12 voicing modes, plus Mono Retrig and Mono Legato modes. Each voice has three oscillators and a noise source, with Ramp, Triangle and Square waveforms, free-running oscillators, oscillator sync and pulse width control.

The filter is a low-pass ladder design per voice, switchable between 24 dB and 12 dB modes. Cutoff, Emphasis, keyboard tracking and filter envelope amount give you direct control over the filter character, and Emphasis Bass Compensation helps keep low end steady when resonance is raised.

Modulation, Performance and Workflow

The LFO offers several waveforms, sync and retrig, and Voice Modulation can route Oscillator 3 and the Filter Envelope to other parameters. Modulation targets include pitch, pulse width, filter, volume and pan. Glide, velocity, pitch bend, mod wheel, Hold and Arp / Seq controls are available for playing.

The advanced panel adds a multi-arpeggiator, a poly sequencer, three modulator slots, keyboard and macro modulators, and a four-slot FX rack. The interface is resizable, and the plugin supports MPE for expressive controllers.
