01Overview

Jun-6 V is Arturia's virtual version of the Juno-6, a polyphonic analogue synth known for its simple controls and warm sound. The developer describes it as a next-generation component-level model that keeps the original's hands-on layout. Beyond the core oscillators and filter, it adds a second envelope and LFO, expanded modulation routing, and modern effects. It is aimed at producers who want thick analogue pads, bass and leads without a complicated interface.

Sound Character and Voice Behavior

Jun-6 V uses a free-running phase oscillator with up to 36 voices of polyphony. Three voice calibration states let you choose how much analogue variation there is between voices, from very clean to slightly rough. Voice detune adds the small pitch differences associated with analogue hardware.

The chorus is modeled on the classic stereo BBD chorus of the original hardware, and the built-in delay and reverb can be modulated. Unison and portamento are included for fat bass and lead parts.

Controls, Modulation and Workflow

The layout follows the original Juno approach, with a small set of direct controls. A second ADSR envelope and a second multi-waveform LFO add modulation options, and the second envelope and LFO each have two freely assignable destinations.

The mod wheel, velocity and aftertouch can be assigned to modulation destinations. A customizable chord mode offers 12 voicings plus your own, and the arpeggiator is built around straightforward patterns. Advanced Brightness, Timbre, Time and Movement macro controls help with quick shaping, and built-in tutorials explain the parameters inside the plugin.
