Jazz Vibraphone is a Kontakt instrument library from Soundiron that samples two vibraphones for jazz-style playing. It includes hard and soft mallets, open and damped articulations, and close and vintage ribbon microphone positions.
Jazz Vibraphone is built around two recorded vibraphones: a 4-octave Adams Alpha with gold anodized bars and a vintage Musser. The library covers mallet and microphone choices, so you can shape the instrument toward a smoky ballad, a comping part behind a soloist, or an uptempo swing groove. Its 38,540 stereo samples total about 52.9 GB installed, and the package includes Kontakt and Decent Sampler presets along with ambient pads and drones built from the source recordings.
The library offers custom and Musser hard and soft mallets, each with open and damped articulations. This gives you a range of attack and sustain for different parts of a jazz arrangement.
Two microphone positions are included: Close, for a direct and present sound, and a vintage ribbon position for a softer, more rounded tone. Switching between them lets you change the character of the instrument without loading a different library.
The interface includes a mixer with customizable controls and a full FX rack. The rack features a convolution reverb with custom rooms, halls, chambers and FX environments.
The package has 24 Kontakt .nki instrument presets and 16 Decent Sampler presets, along with 20 ambient pads and evolving drones created from the source content. The .WAV samples are unlocked, so you can use them outside the instrument.

You need the full version of Kontakt 6.6 or higher. The instrument will run in demo mode in the free Kontakt Player. The free Decent Sampler engine is required to use the included .dspreset presets.
The library lists support for Windows, macOS and Linux. Windows 7 or higher and macOS 10.12 or higher are required for Kontakt, and Linux x86 64-bit is supported for Decent Sampler.
The library is 52.9 GB installed. The developer recommends a SATA or SSD hard drive, a multi-core CPU and 3 GB of system RAM.
Soundiron recorded a 4-octave Adams Alpha with gold anodized bars and a vintage Musser. The developer says it worked with Pearl USA on hand-selected frames, custom bars and signature mallets.
