Sound and playing articulations

The four instruments cover different voicings. The mallet K 1 and K 2 are mallet kalimbas with wide metal keys. Mallets emphasize the overtones over the fundamental, so the larger K 1 produces a clangy mix of overtones, while the smaller K 2 is described as a punchy bass.

Sit or Play is a set of three benches, each with a pair of circular steel tongue drums in the seat. It offers hard mallet, soft mallet, metal mallet, finger and hand articulations across two mic positions. T-Rod-on-Tine uses hardened steel rods attached to spring-steel tines and includes a range of striker types, including rubber, ping pong, rubber band, pick and finger.

Controls, FX and included presets

The Kontakt interface includes automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching and cross-fading. An LFO system offers selectable shapes, targets, tempo sync and fade-in, and 12 lowpass, highpass and FX filters can be modulated by velocity, mod wheel, expression, aftertouch and key position.

The arpeggiator provides velocity tables, direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration control, and a key and scale lock helps keep melodies in key. A modular FX rack with 18 DSP modules across 10 slots includes a convolution reverb with 99 room, hall, chamber and outdoor impulses plus 40 custom FX impulses. The library includes 6 master presets and 20 sound-designed FX and ambient presets.
