Hopkin Instrumentarium: Alt Alt – Kontakt Zither Instrument by Soundiron

The samples cover hammer-down, slow strum and fast strum articulations, each available in the Close and Pickups mic positions. Soundiron states that every articulation is available in all four layers, so you can mix and match them within a single patch.

The instrument is described as sounding richest when its tuning is slightly imperfect, because the offset strings create a chorusing effect. Soundiron calls the tone distinctive and organic, with a full body.

The library includes 4,380 stereo samples in unlocked .WAV format, with up to 8x round robin and 6 velocity layers per note.

The Kontakt interface offers automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching, cross-fading and layering.

An adaptable LFO system provides selectable shapes, modulation targets, speed, intensity, tempo sync and fade-in time. Twelve lowpass, highpass and FX filters can be assigned modulation from velocity, mod wheel, expression, aftertouch, key position and step sequencer tables.

A modular FX rack offers 27 DSP modules in any of 8 slots, and the reverb section includes 99 convolution impulse responses for rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor spaces, plus 40 custom FX impulses.
