Hapi Drums is a Kontakt instrument library from Soundiron that samples four steel tongue drums in 24-bit, 48 kHz stereo, with three articulations and a set of modular sound-shaping and FX tools.
Hapi Drums captures four steel tongue drums built by Hapi Drum, sampled by Soundiron. The instruments cover a low D minor model, two mid-range Slim Tuneable models and a small treble Tini. Each model can be loaded on its own, including individual tongue soloing, or played together as one chromatic scale. The library includes three playing styles, using soft rubber mallets, hard metal picks and nylon jazz brushes.
The four instruments were recorded with a wide stereo pair of large-diaphragm Neumann TLM 103 microphones and a binaural Rode NT-SF1, giving two distinct tonal perspectives.
The low Origin D minor model spans D3 to A4, the two Slim Tuneable models span A3 to E5, and the small Tini spans A4 to A5. Each articulation is sampled separately, so you can choose the striking material that suits your part.
The Kontakt interface offers automation-ready controls for swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching and cross-fading.
An LFO system with selectable shape, target, speed, intensity and tempo sync sits alongside 12 filter types, a customizable arpeggiator and a key and scale lock. A modular FX rack offers 18 DSP modules across 10 slots, with a convolution reverb that includes 99 room and hall impulses and 40 custom FX impulses.

Hapi Drums requires Kontakt. The library works in the free Kontakt Player (version 6.1+) and in the full retail version of Kontakt (version 6.2.2 or later for .nki presets). The free Player does not support the open-format import process for this library.
Hapi Drums supports Windows 7 or higher and macOS 10.12 or higher. It is available for the VST, AU and AAX instrument plugin formats through Kontakt.
