Sound Shaping and Real-Time Control
The core of FutzBox is its SIM library, which models the character of different playback devices. McDSP says these models are built in an optimized format that uses less DSP power than conventional convolution products, and that they can be scaled and changed on the fly.
Around the SIMs, the plugin offers configurable futz effects including filtering, EQ and distortion. Tuned Intensity, Chop and Wobble controls shape how the effect plays out, and a flexible noise generator with ducking capability adds background texture. A hyper-sensitive gate can produce signal dropout effects.
Because the dry signal can be blended with the processed signal in real time, you can ride the amount of degradation as a scene moves from clean to distorted.
