The instrument has four layers, labeled A, B, C and D. Each layer can hold a sample-based source from a library of 250 sources, covering acoustic, bass, chords, FX, multisamples, synths, textures and vocals, or a synth oscillator. You can import your own samples to start a new sound or replace a source in an existing patch.

Sample sources offer play direction, tone and keytracking controls. Synth sources offer an oscillator shape slider running from sine to pulse, along with unison and detune. Pitch, fine tuning, velocity sensitivity, panning and volume are available on every layer. The XY Pad can blend the four sources in Sounds Mode or modulate parameters in FX Mode.

Twelve modulation sources include six envelopes with delay and hold, two LFOs with retrigger and offset options, velocity and keytracking with adjustable curves, and the X and Y position of the XY Pad. A modulation matrix lists all routings and lets you adjust curve and polarity.

The four macros are Quanta, Entropy, Orbit and Infinite. Quanta combines wavy modulation with downsampling, Entropy adds heavy distortion and noise, Orbit pairs a slow phaser with faster pitch flutter, and Infinite provides an endless delay mixed with a large reverb. Two dual filters can run in parallel or in series, and three rearrangeable FX slots offer 16 effect types, including saturation, bitcrush, reverb, compressor, speaker and noise.
