Four-Layer Engine for Sample and Synth Sounds
Each of the four sound sources can run in one of two engines: a sample engine or a synth oscillator engine. Sample sources offer playback direction, tone and keytracking controls, along with pitch, fine tuning, velocity sensitivity, panning and volume. Synth sources include an oscillator shape slider ranging from sine to square and pulse, plus unison and detune controls.
The XY Pad works in two modes. In Sounds mode it blends between the four sources. In FX mode it modulates any available parameter. A randomise function can select samples for a single layer or randomise sound sources, parameters and effects across the whole plugin.
The modulation system includes 12 sources: six ADSR envelopes with delay and hold, two LFOs with retrigger and offset options, velocity and keytracking with adjustable curves, and the X and Y position of the XY Pad. A full modulation matrix lists all routings, with curve and polarity settings for finer control.
Quanta, Entropy, Orbit and Infinite are the four macro effects. Quanta combines wavy modulation with downsampling. Entropy adds heavy distortion, noise and chaos. Orbit combines a slow phaser with flutter-style pitch modulation. Infinite pairs an endless delay with a large reverb.
Dual filters can route any source and run in parallel or in series, with multiple filter curves, cutoff, resonance, drive and mix controls. Three rearrangeable effect slots offer a choice of 16 effects, including saturation, delay, reverb, compressor, phaser, speaker simulation and pitch drift.
Presets are included, with 250 sound sources to build from.
Genres the developer names as targets are dark drum and bass, atmospheric techno and experimental electronic music.
The instrument runs as a plugin in VST3, VST2, AU, AAX and Standalone formats on macOS and Windows.
The developer names Skrillex, Burial and Jon Hopkins as inspirations for the sound.
