The core of Efx MOTIONS is five modules: Filter, Noise, Drive, Volume and Pan. The Filter module offers five filter types for swells, resonant risers and subtle transient emphasis. Noise layers sampled noise types over a sound, and Drive provides 10 saturation and distortion characters, including Tape, Softclip and Germanium.

Volume creates level variations for stuttering percussion and tremolo-style movement, while Pan moves the signal across the stereo field in sync with your project. You can toggle modules on and off and change their order to suit the chain you want to build.

Each module's trigger is customizable. Options include Trance Gate, Euclidean, Clock, MIDI and Transient, and a dynamics section with threshold and attack and release controls lets the audio respond to its input. An external sidechain option is also available.

The motion editor lets you draw your own envelope shapes or choose from envelope presets. Three multi-destination modulation generators (step sequencer, function, random and envelope follower) and two assignable macro controls add another layer of automation. A/B comparison helps when auditioning changes.
