Sound Character of the Time Cube Model
The original Cooper Time Cube used fixed, very short delay times, roughly 14 ms and 16 ms per line, or about 30 ms when cascaded. At those lengths it works less like a slapback echo and more like a doubling effect. AudioThing says the emulation is based on an original unit from its own collection, fully serviced and carefully maintained. The acoustic transmission and transducer setup give the sound a distinct frequency response that adds width and presence rather than long repeat tails.
The Brightness and Contrast controls let you shape that tonal footprint further, which is useful when placing a sound in a mix.
The Garden Hose and Corrugated models move away from the original hardware. AudioThing describes them as DIY-inspired variations that extend the physical principles of the unit.
