Sound and Playing Range of the Dhol
Soundiron recorded the two drums across a wide dynamic range, from soft finger articulations to hard stick strikes. The library includes up to 14 velocity layers and 10 round robin samples per note, which helps repeated hits sound less mechanical.
The treble head can produce small timbales-like tones or sharper snare-like sounds, depending on drum size, mallet type and strike position. The bass head covers deep booms as well as softer bending, water-drop style effects with a rich low end. Wooden clacks recorded over different areas of the drum bodies add further options.
