Detection and Key Filter Controls

The DE555 includes high pass and band pass key filter options. McDSP's unique focus control is designed to help the key filter separate sibilance from the surrounding dialog. The key filter output can also be monitored, so you can hear exactly what the detector is listening to.

Real-time metering shows how much de-essing is being applied, and a key filter response plot helps you see where the detection is focused. Together these displays make setup quicker when adjusting a sibilant vocal or dialog track.

Workflow Options and Formats

Ratio and release are continuously adjustable, letting you fine-tune how much the sibilance is reduced. The high frequency only option reduces only the high-frequency sibilant content, leaving the original dialog body untouched. Mono and stereo versions are both included.
