CZ V: Phase Distortion Synth Plugin by Arturia Free Download

Casio's phase distortion synthesis shapes the timing of simple carrier waves using selectable waveforms, rather than the frequency modulation used in the Yamaha DX7. CZ V emulates the original CZ DAC, and its eight original waveforms can be extended with a custom waveform editor.

The synth covers a wide range of timbres, including pads, percussive tones, buzzy digital sounds and electronic effects. Arturia's presets are organized by bass, lead, key and pad categories, which gives a starting point for each of these sound types.

CZ V has two synthesis lines with an independent noise source. Its CZ, DADSR and Multi-Segments envelopes can be synced and looped to control pitch, DCW and amplitude. Two modulation envelopes, four assignable macros and an advanced modulation matrix let you connect these sources to the synth's parameters.

A Sample and Hold module, two LFOs with six waveforms, three source combinators and an arpeggiator add further movement. Four effects slots can be routed in series or per synthesis line, and a synthesis line state viewer shows real-time feedback as you edit.
