Concert Vibraphone: Kontakt Vibraphone Library by Soundiron

The library is built around a gold anodized aluminum vibraphone recorded with a selection of soft, medium and hard artist signature mallets. A damped set is included as well. Each note is sampled across 8 or more velocity layers with 8 round-robin variations, so repeated notes avoid sounding identical.

The library ships 17,309 stereo samples in unlocked .WAV format, totaling 32.7 GB installed. Developer Soundiron describes the microphone placement as intentionally close to bring out the sustain and warmth of the bars.

In addition to the mallet sounds, 20 ambient pads and evolving drones were created from the source recordings for textural work.

The Kontakt interface gives you control over swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, coarse and fine pitch, articulation switching and cross-fading. The included LFO system offers tempo sync, assignable modulation targets and 12 filter types.

A customizable arpeggiator and key and scale lock help you build patterns and keep them in key. The modular FX rack provides 27 DSP effect modules across 8 slots, which can be arranged in any order. A convolution reverb with custom rooms, halls, chambers and FX environments is included.
