Amp and Cabinet Tone Models

The collection captures The ONE amp at several Variac settings, including 68 V, 78 V and 89 V. Captures made at 78 V and 89 V show how the amp responds to voltage sag, with the lower voltage producing a spongier feel and a bit more gain.

Four cabinet setups are included. They range from Marshall 1960A cabs with Celestion G12M Blackback and Greenback speakers to a Marshall 1960B combo loaded with two Greenbacks and two JBL D120 speakers. Each cabinet is captured across the voltage settings so you can hear how the speakers and amp interact.

Studio Capture and Signal Chain

Each cabinet was miked with SM57s and run through a vintage-style analog console. A few captures use a U67 placed further back for more resonance and a softer top end. Alternate Hot Tone Models push the analog mic preamp harder for extra gain and saturation.

The front-end signal chain includes a Vega Wireless system, a 1970s Maestro Echoplex EP-3 and a 1977 MXR MX117 Flanger. These pedals are part of the signal chain even when bypassed.
