01Overview

Bontastic! is built around the Bontempi B4, a 25-key table organ with eight chord buttons and no stops. Soundiron sampled that simple instrument and wrapped it in a custom Kontakt interface with vibrato, an Octave control that adds lower and higher octaves, and Glide for adjustable portamento. The instrument is designed for producers who want a retro organ sound they can shape rather than a generic preset.

Sound Shaping and Performance Controls

The interface offers volume swell, note attack, release and sample start offset, so you can change how each note begins and ends. Vibrato and the Octave control add depth and register. The Octave feature gradually adds a lower and higher octave to the notes you play.

Glide adds an adjustable portamento between notes and can be set to 0 for standard polyphonic playing. The instrument also includes an LFO with configurable shape, target, speed, intensity and fade-in time, plus a filter section offering 13 filter types with resonance control.

Arpeggiator and FX Rack

A customizable arpeggiator controls pattern direction, rhythm, swing, randomization and duration. The modular FX rack lets you place up to 10 effects from a list of 18 in any chain order.

The convolution reverb includes 119 impulse responses covering cathedrals, churches, chambers, rooms, halls and special effect spaces. The rack also includes EQ, phaser, flanger, delay, distortion and amp and speaker simulation.

The library ships with 2 main instrument presets and 20 sound-designed FX and ambient presets to start from.

What do I need to use Bontastic!?

Bontastic! requires the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later, because the included .nki presets are not supported by the free Kontakt Player. Kontakt is needed to load the instrument.
