String Sounds and Preset Categories

The 250 presets are organized into seven categories. Drones hold long, sustained string notes. Full Ensembles combine double bass, cello, viola and violin. Rhythmic presets use staccato, spiccato and pizzicato articulations, while Melodic presets pitch a sample across two octaves in a scale. Solo presets use a single instrument, and Textures sit in the background of a track. Experimental presets focus on abstract sound design.

The instrument has 8 sample banks containing 112 samples, with 14 sample keys for triggering sounds.

Workflow, Controls and Effects

The main page gives quick access to sounds. Loading a new bank or dragging individual samples onto the white keys changes the sound. Four macros, Drive, Stereo, Chamber and Vinyl, shape the sound from one place, and five main FX parameters cover Mod, Delay, Reverb, Lo-Cut and Hi-Cut.

The Edit page holds sample playback settings, a sequencer and three rearrangeable effects. The effects are Mod (Chorus, Vibrato or Flanger), Delay (Stereo or Ping Pong) and Reverb (Plate, Hall or Spring).
