01Overview

The upgrade extends Bloom Drum Machine Lite with more presets and a larger sample library, so producers who already use the Lite version can expand their kits without buying a separate instrument. Its 14 BPM-synced sample keys cover two octaves, and the built-in sequencer lets you trigger and layer one-shots and loops in sync with your project. Import your own audio and sculpt sounds in the edit page.

Sound Sources and Sample Library

Excite Audio says the samples were recorded from analogue drum synthesisers and from live drums processed through analogue hardware and digital mixing techniques. The sources include vintage analog drum machines, early digital rhythm units, percussive tones from electronic keyboards and devices, modern drum synthesisers, and textured loops and one-shots.

The upgrade adds over 50 new drum samples and more than 150 presets. All samples that come with Bloom Drum Machine are royalty-free.

Workflow, Sequencer and Effects

Choose a sample bank or preset, then trigger samples across the 14 white keys. Black keys alter playback speed and pitch and trigger sequences and effect modulation.

The Banks View lets you swap presets and drag samples onto keys, and Sample Randomise switches samples for new combinations. The sequencer automates pitch, volume and filter settings plus three effects. Four macros (Drive, ModDelay, Static, Lo-Fi) control the effects chain, which includes Bitcrush, Dynamics and Reverb with Hall, Plate and Spring algorithms.
