While a bass-heavy section plays, the targets move to suggested EQ positions based on how your mix's tonal balance compares to the preset. Use these suggestions as a starting point, then adjust by ear. The algorithm accounts for loudness differences, so the targets stay relevant whether you are mixing or mastering.

Mastering The Mix says BASSROOM uses filters with minimal phase distortion and minimal transient distortion, which it describes as more transparent than standard linear-phase filters at low frequencies. The developer notes this helps preserve the bite of kicks and bass lines.

The 3D room display plots frequencies vertically and shows gain as depth. A band on the central 0dB line has no gain change. Pushing a band back reduces gain, and bringing it forward increases it. A level match control helps keep perceived loudness consistent when you toggle bypass.
