AudioMatrix | Educational Version: Channel Routing Utility Plugin

At its core, AudioMatrix re-routes input channels to output channels, with gain and polarity controls on each connection. Speaker Array Management lets you set up arrays that reproduce 5.1 material in a 7.1 studio, using all surround speakers at the right levels.

For immersive work, Bring to Center temporarily sends any signal to the center channel, which makes fine adjustments easier. Mirror flips sounds left and right to suit the image, from stereo up to 7.1.2 soundscapes.

LFE Control adjusts the subwoofer level independently of the other channels, and Send to the Sub-Woofer gathers audio from all channels into the sub if you do not have a bass management system.

Middle-Side conversion turns stereo into Mid-Side and back again, giving you more options for stereo effects processing. Big Mono collapses immersive audio into a large mono sound, or lets you build custom mono mixes by setting each channel's contribution.

Basic upmixing and downmixing work the same way, with control over how much each channel contributes. Format conversion handles the common 5.1 variants: switching from 5.1 Film to 5.1 SMPTE is done by changing channel ordering.

Sound Particles notes that the plugin supports formats from mono up to 64 channels, including formats in between, which is useful when a client needs a track in a different layout than the one you mixed in.
