Sound Sources and Articulations
The library samples each instrument with multiple articulations and wind effects. Soundiron says the instruments were hand-crafted using period-accurate methods and materials by the Athens-based research group Lyravlos, and recorded by producer John Valasis with round-robin variations and several dynamics and voicings.
Across the set you get five articulation types for the aulos, conch shells, pan flute, plagiaulos and salpinx, plus 20 ambience patches built from the source recordings. These give you raw melodic material as well as textured sound-designed beds.
