01Overview

AmpliTube L.A. Rocker is a signature gear collection for AmpliTube Custom Shop, built around the sound of late 1980s Sunset Strip rock and glam. It bundles high-gain and classic rock amp models with a set of stompbox effects, so guitarists can record and play through rigs modeled on the gear that shaped that era. The collection also includes 13 presets for modern sleaze rock and late '80s anthem tones, which can serve as starting points for your own sound.

Amp and Cabinet Models for Late '80s Rock Tone

The collection centers on two amplifiers: the AFD 100 and the JCM Slash. Both are paired with two 4x12 cabinets, the 1960AV SL and the 1960BV SL, so you can build a complete guitar rig from amp to cab.

IK Multimedia says this latest update refines the high-gain and classic rock amp models for greater realism. The models are aimed at leads and gritty, hard-hitting riffs.

The JCM Slash name points to its connection with the late 1980s rock sound this collection is built around.

Stompbox Effects and Preset Starting Points

Six stompboxes sit alongside the amps: /Delay, Booster, Gate, OctoBlue, WahDist and X-Chorus. Together they cover the boost, modulation, delay and noise-gate sections of a typical rock signal chain.

The collection includes 13 new presets. The developer describes them as inspired by modern sleaze rock and late '80s Sunset Strip anthems. Use them as a starting point for your own tone or to play along with reference tracks.

AmpliTube L.A. Rocker works with the Custom Shop updates, and no previous version of AmpliTube is required to run it.
