01Overview

WirePluck is designed for creating new pluck-style sounds rather than recreating acoustic instruments. Its three oscillator layers each draw from four source synthesis types, including a custom Karplus physical modelling engine and a three-operator FM section. The interface groups the most important parameters on the main screen for fast editing, while an Advanced screen exposes every parameter. It is available as a plugin in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats for Windows and macOS.

Sound Sources and Plucked Synthesis

The Wire source is a newly developed sound that resembles striking a wire. String uses custom Karplus physical modelling synthesis, which is the basis for many plucked tones. FM is a three-operator phase modulation synthesizer, and each oscillator adds a Pitch Envelope Decay control, a feature less common in classic FM synthesis that helps add extra pluck to the attack. Wave is a single-oscillator subtractive section with a range of filter types.

Each of the three layers has its own output routing, so different sources can be combined and processed separately within one patch.

Workflow, Modulation and Effects

Two LFOs and an eight-slot modulation matrix handle movement and parameter control. The arpeggiator includes chord, ratchet and slide functions, and a chord memory section is available for building harmonic material. A ribbon controller with spring-back modulation and tempo sync adds performance control.

The four effect units cover distortion with several types, modulation effects such as chorus and flanger, a stereo delay and a reverb. The effect path can be reordered. Velocity split per layer and play modes including MPE and Legato give control over how the synth responds to playing.
