Sound Design With Vector Synthesis
Vecto's four oscillators are arranged around a vector path. Drawing or moving the path changes how the oscillators blend, so a single patch can shift over time without separate envelopes or layers.
The oscillators draw on classic analog models, additive, spectrum and sampled waveforms. The developer notes that the sampled sources can be resynthesized as grains, with controls for grain on/off, grain size, length and randomization. That range makes it suitable for everything from static pads to evolving textures.
Vector synthesis originated with Sequential Circuits' Prophet VS in 1986, and Rob Papen's version brings the same cross-fading idea into a modern plugin format.
