01Overview

WidthShaper 3 is built for producers who want precise control over the stereo image of single tracks and buses. Each of its three bands has its own mid/side adjustment, drawable LFO and envelope follower, so width can move with the beat, with the audio itself, or with a pattern you draw. Cableguys describes the plugin as a multiband stereo expander and mid/side modulator. It is also part of the Shapers family: it runs inside ShaperBox 3, on its own or stacked with other Shapers.

Stereo width shaping across three bands

WidthShaper 3 splits the signal into three bands, and each band gets its own mid/side width control. The LFO can be expanded for detailed editing, and a draggable Width parameter shifts the whole wave up or down. Solo and dry/wet controls for each band make it easier to set up one band at a time and blend the result with the original signal.

The spectrum view and large oscilloscope, which includes a Magnitude mode and Freeze option, help you see what each band is doing while you edit.

Tempo sync, triggering and wave editing

LFO loop lengths can be set in beats and bars, or in Hertz and milliseconds, ranging from 1/128 to 32 bars with sample-accurate sync. Waves can be triggered via MIDI, and audio-rate modulation reaches up to 5.24kHz for extreme sound design.

Wave editing includes flip, resize, move and randomize functions for waves or selections, copy and paste between any Shapers, unlimited undo and redo, and a 2x/3x button to double or triple patterns. Nine slots store custom waves with the patch, and Wave Presets cover common uses.
