VSM IV: String Machine Synth Plugin by GForce Software Free Download

The core of VSM IV is its set of sounds from 46 classic and rare string machines. GForce lists instruments including the Eminent 310, the Freeman String Symphonizer, the Solina, the Elka Rhapsody, the Logan String Melody and the Korg PE2000 among them.

The two-layer option is the main way to go beyond a single machine. Layers can be combined and played with dual-layer and split keyboard operation, so you can pair two machine sounds in one patch or set different sounds across the keyboard.

For added character, VSM IV includes Aging (Wow and Flutter) instability control, which adds the small pitch and timing irregularities associated with vintage gear. Vintage-style Ensemble and Phaser effects are also included.

VSM IV ships with 1900+ patches, including more than 200 new ones, and over 11.5GB of data. The new Patch and Instrument Browsers are built to help you move through this library quickly.

Editing is supported by Undo, Redo, Copy and Paste, and individual FX locks let you hold specific effects while you experiment with others. LFO shaping can route modulation to Pitch, Filter, Pan and Level.

On the performance side, the expanded Poly Aftertouch and Velocity controls and Poly Pitchbend add expression. Programmable MIDI CC response can be set up through MIDI Learn. VSM IV is compatible with VSM3 presets, so existing patches can be loaded in the new version.

The resonant filter section offers lowpass, bandpass and highpass modes. VSM IV adds an additional state-variable filter alongside it.

The effects chain includes a three-band equaliser, a chorus, an additional ensemble effect and a matrix reverb. Together these let you shape a string bed without leaving the plugin.

The interface is fully scalable, so you can size it to suit your screen.
