01Overview

Vocoder V is built around a 16-band vocoder, the classic design known for robotic speech and harmonized synth textures. Arturia adds an integrated synth carrier section, a sample player with 700+ factory samples, and a patch bay for rerouting the vocoder bands. Built-In Synth and Sampler Carrier

Vocoder V replaces the external synthesizer that the original 16-band vocoder required. Its dual-oscillator section offers triangle, saw, square and noise waveforms, with FM and waveshaping options, hard sync, and fixed frequencies. Chord mode offers twelve voicings plus a custom option, and a glide control and stereo ensemble effect add movement.

The integrated sample player can play back up to 12 samples in cycle or keyboard modes, with time-stretching to sync loops to the DAW tempo. This lets you run drum loops or ambient material through the vocoder as the carrier.

Patch Bay, Modulation and Workflow

The interface is centered on a patch bay, which lets you reroute the vocoder bands. The modulator section gives control over voice and synth levels, attack and release times, individual band levels, and band shifting and width. Each of the 16 bands covers 50 to 5080 Hz.

Advanced modulation includes an envelope follower, LFOs and control assignment. The Advanced Panel adds further options, and Arturia's TAE technology is used to model the analog character of the oscillators and filters.
